Outreach & Report: U District Next

In today’s cluttered media environment, grabbing people’s attention is a challenge. Grabbing people’s attention when your topic is urban planning is even harder. To advertise a series of events around the revitalization of the U District in Seattle, we decided we needed to create print materials that were unique to the living patterns of the neighborhood. We designed a series of trivia-style restaurant drink coasters that had a unique QR code per batch that linked to the website. This allowed us to track which questions and establishments were the most successful at getting people to visit the website. There is a lot of pedestrian traffic in the UDistrict so posters made sense. Along with an eye-catching design we helped grab attention by making the posters an odd size.
