Outreach & Promotion: Waterfront 2020

In order to get the word out about an event for all Seattle residents, we needed to create an eye-catching promotional campaign with a hook that appeals to both adults and kids. Creative Studio took the approach of using the microscopic image of a gribble – a tiny marine worm that’s been tunneling through the Seawall's core – to grab the public’s attention. The use of playful ad copy and doodles clued the reader into the fun nature of the event. To further the gribble theme, we developed an “Adopt a Gribble” station at the event where kids could choose and cut out a paper gribble to take home. These custom illustrations were a big hit with attendees of all ages and were a 2014 gold MarCom award winner.
