Kaiwen Lee
Kaiwen loves finding treasure, whether it’s foraging for wild mushrooms, digging up potatoes or even just opening up a package in the mail.
Kaiwen is passionate about environmental justice and is committed to conducting equitable community outreach. Having worked in field ecology, habitat restoration, urban agriculture and outdoor recreation, they bring a knack for synthesizing complex ideas and fostering collaborative learning environments. In addition to holding degrees in urban environmental education and global environmental studies, Kaiwen’s background includes designing and managing environmental leadership programs for youth of color for nonprofits and the City of Seattle. Nearly every weekend, you can find Kaiwen outside hiking, rock climbing or mountaineering — or helping others do so as one of the founding members of Outdoor Asian.
