Faiza studied abroad in Australia for six months at one of their highest-ranked universities. But more importantly, she got to feed kangaroos and hold a koala.
Faiza graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in law, societies and justice. At UW, her studies focused on political theory, political philosophy and the American Civil Rights Movement. Outside of the classroom, Faiza found her passion for community building, youth outreach and facilitation as an officer for the university’s Somali Student Association. She approaches her work at EnviroIssues with an interest in engaging with the public about the projects that affect their day-to-day lives. On the weekends, Faiza enjoys going on excursions around the city with her film camera and developing the results in the darkroom.
