Brett owns a needy golden retriever and a codependent cat. Brett thinks that these relationships say more about him than they do about his pets.
Brett is a firm believer that, in some cases, 2 + 2 can equal a whole lot more than 4. His history of working with Western communities, agencies, and individuals struggling to overcome difficult natural resource management issues has taught him that creativity and experience sharing are great strategies for expanding the pie and creating resilient solutions to thorny conflicts. After spending his first 23 years in Pennsylvania, Brett traveled to Oregon for graduate school and joined EnviroIssues in early 2014 with his M.S. in Environmental Sciences. In his free time, Brett can often be found roving a national park with his camera—he’s visited 25 in the last five years— or trying to convince himself that running long distances is fun.
