On the first weekend of April 2016, EnviroIssues staff joined WSDOT in holding a celebration on the new SR 520 floating bridge, with more than 45,000 people in attendance. Food trucks? Check. Ribbon cutting ceremony? Count on it. Guinness Book of World Records officiant? Of course!
Our staff helped the project move forward through years of public engagement, planning, and construction – all the way through completion of the longest floating bridge in the world.
It takes a village, with preparations for the event underway for more than a year. EnviroIssues is very honored to be a part of history and to have celebrated this major milestone with the Governor, key elected officials and 50,000 community members on Lake Washington. Thank you for joining us – and Go Long!
